Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau (KWNC) and Macau Alzheimer's Disease Association (MADA) co-organized a lecture on middle and old-aged health care named "Rebuilding the Golden Ages" on January 2 2016. Dr. Dai, Lok Kwan David, KWNC Guest Professor and Consultant Geriatrician of the Department of Medicine & Therapeutics of Prince of Wales Hospital of Hong Kong, was invited to share with local professionals of health care and social welfare field about health knowledge for the middle and old-aged.
The lecture took place at the Lecture Theatre of KWNC, where more than a hundred doctors, nurses, occupational therapists and social workers from public, private institutions were present. Dr. Dai integrated medical knowledge with his diagnosis and treatment experiences to demonstrate methodologies in assessing and handling common health issues in middle and old-aged clients. Some basic health care skills were also covered in the lecture. During the discussion session, participants were enthusiastic about asking Dr. Dai for advice in dealing with particular cases. Through the active discussions amongst participants from different professions, plentiful information and experiences were gained.
After the lecture, Dr. Dai, who is also a member of MADA, took part in the 2nd General Assembly of the Association to provide strategies for the prevention and control of dementia in Macao.
