KWNC Signs Partnership Agreement with the Women’s General Association of Macau

Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau (KWNC) and the Women's General Association of Macau signed a partnership agreement on 10 May, 2017 in the light of building a stronger learning community which integrates teaching, research and social services. It is hoped that through the partnership of both institutions more exchanges, training and sharing of academic and relevant information can be fostered.

At the agreement signing ceremony, KWNC President Van Iat Kio recognized the active social response to the lecture and workshop on the "Prevention and Caring for Older Adults with Dementia" jointly organized by KWNC and the Women's General Association of Macau. She hoped that through closer and more frequent collaborations between the two institutions, more teaching, research and social service programmes can be established for the sake of the general public.

Vice-President of the Women's General Association of Macau Wong Kit Cheng explained that the elderly centre ("I Hong") under the Association has been organizing ambassadors to promote dementia information. Plans are also made for this year in terms of ambassador recruitment, so that further promotion and education in dementia prevention can be done to raise the social awareness of dementia related issues. Wong Kit Cheng also expressed confidence in terms of the collaborations between the Association and KWNC and expected there will be more new programmes established for the benefits of the general public.

The agreement signing ceremony took place on the 3rd floor of the building of the Women's General Association of Macau. The agreement was signed by KWNC President Van Iat Kio and Association President Lam Un Mui and witnessed by representatives including KWNC Vice-President Xing Zhihong, Deputy Executive Officer of Extramural Studies Department Lei Wai In, Vice-President of the Women's General Association of Macau Chan Oi Chu, Deputy Services Director of the Fu Lun Elders' Association of Macau Ho Ka Ian.
