President Xi's reply has fully represented his eager concern and care for the development and personnel training in Macao.

At the meeting, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, Mr. Zheng Xiaosong first conveyed President Xi's important instructions for the work of Macao's higher education institutions. He addressed that President Xi was very pleased to see new advancements in scientific and technological innovation made by Macao's higher education institutions, hoping that Macao's higher education practitioners would continue to make further progress in the cultivation of talents and their affections for the motherland and Macao, advancement of scientific and technological achievements as well as the collaborations of sustainable development of adequate economic diversification in Macao and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area construction. Moreover, President Xi also extended his sincere greetings to the faculty members and students of Macao's higher education institutions.

Chief Executive of Macao SAR, Dr. Chui Sai On has shared two points of his understanding to President Xi's important instructions with the participants. First, they should fully understand President Xi's important instructions regarding the major strategic opportunities and guidelines for the development of various undertakings in Macao, and understand the important status and function of scientific and technological innovation in national development as well as implementation of "One Country, Two Systems" for the priority to education development. Second, they should uphold the principle of "One Country" and take advantage of "Two Systems" to hold the opportunity bought by rapid development of the country and strive for Macao's development.

The instructions fully expressed President Xi's eager concern and care for the development and personnel training in Macao. Greatly encouraged and motivated by President Xi's instructions and greetings to Macao's higher education institutions, President Van Iat Kio of Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau (KWNC) showed her appreciation to the Central Government and Macao SAR Government for their attention and support to the development of Macao's higher education institutions. Besides, she also addressed that she would enable faculty members and students to learn and fully understand the main ideas of President Xi's instructions without further ado, and take the initiative to promote the value of loving the country and Macao to the nursing and health science professionals as for the innovative development of adequate economic diversification in Macao and construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and make contributions to the prosperity and health of the motherland.

KWNC President Van has circulated the meeting contents and spirits to all the faculty members and students of the College right after the meeting. Deeply encouraged and impressed by concern and expectations from President Xi and the Central Government to Macao, all faculty members and students decided to better equip themselves for the establishment of a prosperous, steady and progressive society for the motherland and Macao since President Xi's message has further confirmed their determination to set up their foothold in Macao and their love towards the motherland, and become an impetus for their future nursing education and clinical work.

Having learned from President Xi's encouraging message and instructions, KWNC Deputy Programme Leader of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Programme Lecturer Wang Sichen deeply believed that it was the direction and motivation for faculty members in Macao. The College has been actively cooperating with the development tactics of the country and SAR Government, particularly in continuous innovations and development in teaching, research and social services to cope with health, wellness and ageing population. As one of the faculty members in Macao, Lecturer Wang addressed that she would seize the opportunities, take the responsibilities and initiatives to make contributions to the youth education, cultivate undergraduates' innovation and creativity ability, increase their sense of mission and responsibility, and continuously nurture innovative nursing and health science professionals loving the country and Macao.

In recent years, students have had various opportunities to conduct clinical studies in domestic hospitals and learned from famous doctors and experienced teachers. Furthermore, students have not only learned professional knowledge, but have also enhanced their motivation for learning, deepened their recognition of their own profession and experienced the national advancement of medical technology and nursing profession. It is indeed a golden era for Macao to meet the opportunities of development plan of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. As a nursing faculty member, Lecturer Cheong has determined to make every effort to develop nursing education with Macao characteristics and contribute to the health business of Macao and the country.

KWNC Deputy Executive Officer of Research Management and Development Department Zhu Mingxia believed that the construction of the Greater Bay Area proposed by the country has provided opportunities and served as a platform to integrate education, scientific research and social services for Macao's higher education institutions for cultivating innovative and practical talents. As a cradle of nurturing healthcare providers, it allows the College to think and explore the public health management in the Greater Bay Area and the impact of regional culture on health. At the same time, it should seize the opportunity to participate in the Greater Bay Area development and live up to the trust and support from the Central Government to Macao, entering into a new era of the innovation and diversified development of Macao's higher education institutions.

The Chair of KWNC Students' Union Wong Cheng Nga addressed that the Students' Union had been committed to cultivating the spirit of loving the country, Macao, the College and nursing profession through organizing various activities to strengthen students' sense of belonging and enthusiasm for the country. Besides, the Students' Union has also actively encouraged students to conduct exchanges in the Mainland, establish a social network and broaden their horizons. She believed that the advantages of rich educational resources, students with high cultural quality and strong inclusiveness in Macao can entirely create conditions for Macao's students to act as the bridge between the national and international cooperation, provide the impetus for the integrated development of urban agglomerations in the Greater Bay Area, fully exert the unique strength of "One Country, Two Systems" in Macao, integrate the experience with the needs of the country and jointly promote its development.

Recent graduates Lei Un Leng and Chen Wai Kun have taken President Xi's expectations and encouragement as an effort goal and undertaken the social responsibility from their profession for the construction of Great Bay Area and Macao with practical actions. They mentioned that they had been provided various opportunities to conduct clinical study in local, domestic and overseas medical institutions during their four years of study, and indeed they had deeply understood the importance of technological innovation and scientific research achievements in advancing medical development which particularly served as a positive role to the development of public livelihood and wellness in promoting the establishment of a smart medical system in Macao. In addition, they stated that they would not stop the learning process because they realized that it was essential to keep the pace of latest medical information and smart medical development to promote Macao's medical care development to a new level, with innovation of nursing higher education, advancement of scientific research and multidisciplinary collaboration through technology exchanges and cooperation between the Mainland and urban agglomerations in Greater Bay Area.
