The commencement of the 5th Health Care Course
The Opening Ceremony of the 5th Health Care Course jointly organized by the Escola Luso-Chinesa Técnico-Profissional (ELCTP) and Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau (KWNC) took place at the Lecture Theatre of the College on 3rd September 2018, welcoming over 40 secondary school students for their health care learning in a new school year.
KWNC Deputy Executive Officer of Extramural Studies Department Lei Wai In welcomed 13 Form 4 students of ELCTP to join the Health Care Course and encouraged Form 5 and Form 6 students of ELCTP to continue their study in her welcoming remarks, hoping that students could learn how to cherish, distinguish right from wrong and surpass themselves in the affluent society. ELCTP Director Chan Ieng Lon believed that secondary school students who had energy and motivation, could have greater opportunities to attain remarkable achievements as long as they set up their goals at an early stage. In addition, he also emphasized that interpersonal skills and responsibility were the key elements to success, hoping that students could make full use of their time to accomplish their goals.
Two sessions of graduates have completed their studies in Health Care Course since its establishment. Some teachers expressed that most of the graduates could successfully study the ideal majors that they targeted to in the university including nursing, clinical medicine, physiotherapy, veterinary medicine and social work, etc. In addition, some students expressed that they would like to devote themselves into the healthcare industry in order to achieve their original goal to study the course.
Honourable guests at the opening ceremony also included ELCTP Programme Coordinator Cheong Lai Wan, class advisers, KWNC President Van Iat Kio, KWNC Vice-President Xing Zhihong and Deputy Executive Officer of Research Management and Development Department Zhu Mingxia.
