The Kiang Wu Nursing College (KWNC) is expanding the greater bay area collaboration again. KWNC’s president Professor Florence Van Iat Kio, went to the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University and built a Zhuhai-Macau psychosomatic health interdisciplinary collaboration alliance with five different Zhuhai and Macau tertiary education institutes, hospitals and medical associations to promote psychosomatic health and to encourage scientific research cooperation and resource sharing between the Mainland and Macau on 28th June 2019.

 

In order to be in the important spirit of the documents such as “13th Five-Year Plan for Health”, “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area” and “Framework Agreement on Hygiene and Health Cooperation of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Bay Area”, the college had signed the “Zhuhai-Macau Psychosomatic Health Interdisciplinary Cooperation Alliance Agreement” with the Zhuhai Nursing Association, the Promotion Association of Mental Health, the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University, the University of Macau and Macau Psychosomatic Medicine Association. Also a Zhuhai-Macau psychosomatic health interdisciplinary cooperation alliance was established. Six institutes in the Mainland and Macau will share resources and will encourage further exchanges and training in areas such as mental health and crisis intervention, promoting scientific research collaboration between the Mainland and Macau.

 

President Van is glad to build up collaborations between the Mainland and Macau during the coming celebratory period of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the People’s Republic ofChinaand the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Macau Special Administrative Region, as the national policy plans bring rare opportunities to the college. She expressed that seven alliances had been created through the development plan for the Guangdong Hong Kong-Macau greater bay area. This united the nursing tertiary institutes, hospitals and medical associations in the promotion of  tertiary educational development. Moreover, the formation of alliances actively cultivates medical and nursing professionals.
