Alumna Chan Weng Sai was graduated from the Kiang Wu Nursing and Midwifery School in 1979. In 2013, she completed the college’s “Master of Nursing Science Programme” and was awarded the “Postgraduate Scholarship” and the “Graduate Award of Excellence”. After graduation, she dedicated her life to serve the nursing sector in Macau. During the outbreak of "SARS" and the pandemic of "H1N1", Chan Weng Sai took the lead to set up the isolation wards in the community and performed various actions in fighting against these diseases. She further led her team to establish nurse-led clinics on "diabetes control" and "smoking cessation". She also propagated nursing research and successfully achieved the accreditation of the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS). Furthermore she actively promoted the reform of Macau nurses’ roles, and enhanced nursing services. Chan Weng Sai is currently appointed by the Macau S.A.R. Government as the director of the nursing department in Conde S. Januário Hospital. Her successful career and remarkable experiences show that she is an incredible role model for nursing students.
