The agreement signing ceremony of the Hunan delegation and Macao’s higher education institutes in the connection conference is hosted by the Higher Education Bureau
The Higher Education Bureau organised a trip for Hunan science and education Institutes’ delegation to have a meeting at Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau (KWNC) and visit Historical Memorial House of Kiang Wu Hospital on the 11th December 2020. This is to comprehend local nursing education development and Kiang Wu’s history. During the meeting, President Van Iat Kio, Executive Officer of Research Management & Development Department Leong Sok Man and Deputy Executive Officer of Education Department Wang SiChen introduced the College’s participation in social service, scientific research development and operation characteristics. The rector of the four Hunan institutes appreciated the rich history, “From Personhood to Benevolence” pedagogical philosophy, and profound nursing professionalism. They also desired to collaborate, pay visits to each other’s institutes and host lectures and encourage exchange between teachers and students.
In the same afternoon, President Van Iat Kio and Vice-President Xing Zhihong attended the Hunan science and education institutes’ delegation exchange and connection conference hosted by the Higher Education Bureau, a collaboration agreement was signed with Hunan Normal University. Moreover, President Van Iat Kio also signed a cooperation agreement with Hunan University of Chinese Medicine when she visited Changsha with the Macao Higher Education Bureau’s delegation on the Changsha field trip organised by the Bureau last year. This time, Hunan science and education institutes visited KWNC, demonstrated considerable steps were taken to collaborate with higher education institutes in Macao. The collaboration agreement established a channel between the College and the key universities in Hunan, which would be convenient for advancing the education and scientific research collaboration between institutions, encourage teacher-student exchanges, create cross-disciplinary learning opportunities and provide chances for medical and health professionals to exchange between the two places.
