The annual retreat of our college took place in Mong Ha Campus on November 14 to 15.  All staff gathered together, exchanged their ideas on new campus construction and the institutional quality audit.  Vice-president Xing Zhi Hong praised this retreat conference as a notable success, where, in respect of management enhancement, documentary standardization, procedure optimization and information transparency, valuable advices and suggestions were contributed, providing important references for the both short-term and medium-term future development projects of the college.

The retreat conference was held in two days.  President Van Iat Kio presented a thorough review of the history of the development of nursing education from various angles.  She pointed out the features and pattern of modern education, trying to inspire the teaching staff to explore suitable teaching methodology and appropriate management system.  Vice-president Xing gave us a new development direction by analyzing the challenges and opportunities for the college, guiding the staff to a deeper discussion about the development.  Associate Professor Leong Sok Man introduced the schema and the requirement of the institutional quality audit and guided the relevant preparations thereof.

All members were divided into four groups to deliberate upon the below topics, progress of courses, management of teaching, development of library, application of information technology, management of students, internationalization, scientific research and service, cultivation of teachers, construction of new campus etc..  Many suggestions were put forward after the spirited discussion.

After the two-day retreat conference, the college organized a trip for all staff and their family members. A group of more than 80 people was able to take this opportunity to reduce pressure and build up team spirit through the visit to Chime-Long Ocean Kingdom and Circus in Hengqin, Zhuhai.   Returning from the trip, staff responded that, it was not only a chance for strengthening the relationship with colleagues, but also an occasion for their families to know more about their work and colleagues.  All of them said this short trip was relaxing, and they obtained a lot of knowledge about the sea creatures.
