The 6th “Kiang Wu Nursing Academic Symposium” in 2015, co-organized by Kiang Wu Hospital and Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau, was held on the 14th floor of Dr. Henry Fok Specialist Medical Centre, Kiang Wu Hospital at 1:00pm, 27th June. With the theme “Nurturing Nursing Talents, Enhancing Nursing Quality”, organizers expected that the professional training, professionalism and clinical nursing quality of nurses and nursing students can be enhanced through the sharing of work experiences and research findings among participants. Around 200 participants attended the symposium with 8 oral presentations and 20 poster presentations. The symposium has indeed created a great exchange opportunity for College and clinical nurses.
Four reviewing scholars were invited to provide professional comments namely Professor Liu Ming, Director of School of Health Sciences of Macao Polytechnic Institute, Guest Professor Luk Leung from Kiang Wu Nursing College, Dr. Li Wei Ping from Kiang Wu Hospital and Associate Professor Zeng Wen from Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau. Honorable guests Associate Professor Chan Yuk Man from School of Health Sciences of Macao Polytechnic Institute, Deputy Director Ung Pui Kun, Deputy Director Cheung Chun Wing, Assistant to Director Fok Wai Lan from Kiang Wu Hospital, President Van Iat Kio, Vice-President Xing Zhihong from Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau and many executive officers from nursing and medical departments also took part in the event.
The reviewing scholars commented that the quality of oral presentations were satisfactory. Studies including evidence-based nursing, clinical supervision for novice nurses, simulation teaching as well as the applications of surveys on students’ satisfaction to clinical study were carefully studied and presented.
