Life Support in the Community – “Be a Nurse, Be a Life Provider”
In view of the increasing demand for the education and service on pre-hospital life support by society in recent years, Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau established the "Be a Nurse, Be a Life Provider" project in 2016. The project, aims at fostering more life support professionals in response to social development, is a community-wide project which provides education on basic life support (BLS) and the operation of Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).
The popularization of basic emergency response and life support skill not only enhances the safety of residents, tourists and society as a whole, but also encourages the enhancement of personal cultivation in addition to the diffusion of the positive life attitude of "helping and saving own selves as well as others". Therefore, the act of promoting the education, research and service on pre-hospital life support to nursing students, nursing teachers, health care practitioners and even the entire Macao population is necessary and of profound importance.
