Brief Information:

Macao Special Administrative Region Chief Executive addressed the policy objective “to construct high-quality community together for a better tomorrow”, dedicating to raise the overall living standards of Macao citizens in five years. For medical and health care aspects, the objective of “proper medical care and prevention priority” was established in improving health care system, strengthening disease prevention and treatment capabilities, and improving the overall health of citizens. Meanwhile, the demand of citizens for medication and health care are gradually increasing. To comply with the development of medical and health care sectors as well as to cater limited medical resources, Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau is commissioned by the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture to run this project in studying the nursing manpower status in Macao. This research therefore aims to define the social functions of nursing manpower in Macao so as to comply with the development of Macao SAR especially in medical and health care aspects.
