Organized by the Debate Club of Students' Union of the College (KWNCSU), co-organized by Macao Anti-drugs Volunteer Group and sponsored by Higher Education Fund, the 10th debate competition for higher education institutes "Kiang Wu Cup" was held in Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau (KWNC) on 9 and 10 March 2019. The competition was kicked off by Ms. Li Xiang, representative of KWNC. According to her speech, the Debate Club of KWNCSU has been established for over ten years, and she believed that the mission of the club shall extend as constant dripping wears away the stone.
The topic for the two days' competitions (Cantonese debating and Mandarin debating) included anti-drug related arguments. Counselor of Macao Anti-drugs Volunteer Group as well as senior debaters of Macao and debate team representatives from UM, City U and MUST were invited as the judges.
In the Cantonese Debating session, UM Cantonese Debate Team got the highest overall score and won the first place as the "opposition" side regarding the last topic on "whether the minimum penalty level of drug trafficking should be increased". And on each debate session of the day, Liang Yu Qi from MUST, Choi Kuan Hou from KWNC and Ng Hou In from UM won the Best Debater on topics "should knowledge be shared for free?", "Macao should allow residence to be leased as hostel" and "whether the minimum penalty level of drug trafficking should be increased" respectively.

One of the Best Debaters Choi Kuan Hou from KWNC expressed that debate could enhance many aspects of ability. Through the preparation for the competition, it can strengthen the ability of researching and thinking. During the competition, on the other hand, it can test your reflexes and sensitivity to all the details. Moreover, it can strengthen speech organization skill and language competence. The comments from the various judges were beneficial to debaters in recognizing ones' own shortcomings. Every debate session is another rich lesson.

It has always been aimed at cultivating students' ability of logical thinking, language competence and in-game adjustments as well as to expand the debating platform for the education institutions in Macao.
