On 13 September 2026, the election meeting for the third-term committee of the Medical Care Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society (CGS) was grandly held in Beijing in a hybrid online and offline format. The meeting successfully elected the leadership team, standing committee members and members of the new committee. A total of 457 experts, scholars and candidate members from the field of geriatric nursing across the country gathered to discuss major plans for the development of geriatric medical care.

In this election, three faculty members of Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau (KWNC) were honourably elected as members of the new committee, occupying the only three seats allocated to the Macao region:

• Professor Leong Sok Man was elected as a Standing Committee Member
• Assistant Professor Lei Wai In was elected as a Committee Member
• Assistant Professor Wu Jian Wei was elected as a Committee Member

The three experts elected from the Macao region are all from Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau. This not only represents a high level of recognition by a national academic platform of the professional academic competence, clinical care research and social influence of the College’s faculty members, but also reflects the College’s active contribution and solid strength in promoting the academic development of geriatric nursing and deepening regional and national cooperation in medical care.
